hello everybody. i have been lurking around in the forums reading for a bit, and i'd like to turn my 30gbvideo ipod into a deep listening machine.

im looking to spend around a $800us on headphones and amp if possible, i've come into some money and i said if i ever did i'd put it into something that gives me some nice relaxation.

so what are your sugestions? thanks in advance.

welcome to head-fi, sorry about your wallet.

i dont think $80 will get much if you are into something decent, I'd suggest Little Dot Micro + ($80 I think) and maybe Ultimate Ears Super Fi 3's ($50).

He said 800$

.

My first recommendation would be find a local shop, and audition some cans. Find the sound signature you like, and go from there.

what about you send you ipod to RWA and turn it into iMod and buy niec portable amps, like RSA Hornet or Pico/Predator that will be released soon, total would be around $650 with Hornet and $750 with Pico/Predator

I'd say this is a much more reasonable idea.

Spend the money on a nice amp, and 2 or so pair of headphones.

That's just superfluos... One assumes with an Amp, u WILL hook it up to the line-out... An amp on the headphone jack would be laughing stock.
