I am looking to buy a new player to replace my iRiver IFP-895. The iRiver just dosnt have enough storage for me anymore, but otherwise has been a good device.

Here is what I am looking for:
FM tuner (at least as good as the iRiver)
8gb or more
linux compatibility (preferably UMS but most MTP devices work too)
Video capable (I don't care if it has to be converted)
small and easily pocketable

I was leaning heavily tward the Cowon D2, but I have heard many mixed reviews about the tuner. Does anyone know how it compares to the iRiver? I don't need it to be perfect, just comparable to my current device.

If the D2 is no good, does anyone know the quality of the FM tuners in the Samsung P2, the Sansa View, or have any other suggestions?

Thank you for your help.

I can't use the radio on my Cowon D2 when I'm moving around or exercising. It uses the headphone wire for an antenna, so I have to take my amp out of the circuit and carefully place the D2. When I do get it situated, I get great SQ, so I like to use it at work.

I like the record feature on the radio. I can record my favorite shows and it's pretty easy to jump around (skip commercials). However, even at 256 kbps music sounds a little tinny, so I use it for talk shows for the most part.

Never used the iRiver, so I can't compare the two.

My iRiver is that way too. The FM tuner only works well if it isn't moving. I only use the tuner at work when I am relatively stationary. I am just trying to make sure D2 isn't any worse.

I also forgot one of my most important requirements... Bookmarks, or at least a good resume function for use with audiobooks.
