Hello Headfiers :D
after searching the forums for a answer to no avail, i finally decided to make a headfi account and start a new thread.
ok so i'm a 14 year old boy who likes his music .
i mainly listen to rap/hip hop but i also listen to some rock or pop etc.

now my question is i need help with a good pair of headphones that don't need to be amped and can run on a iphone 4/ laptop, because thats where im going to use it the most. portability is a slight matter and it can look good aswell ( no need to be wearing ugly pairs of headphones on the move )

it seems that my buying option changes every week from the phiaton ms400 on one week to, beats by dre studio etc
i have a £200 money limit but i may be able to push that to 250.

the headphones i've owned are the skullcandy skullcrushers and currently using the sony MDR XB700.

i know the beats by dre studio are flamed on headfi but it looks good. is portable and the sound quality seems good.

so could you guys help me out with my decision it would help me ALOT.

thanks.

£200 to £250 is actually a nice budget. You could definitely get a way way better headphone in terms of audio capability with that kind of amount. The M50, which is highly recommended here in Head-fi is definitely an upgrade to the portable phones mentioned.

By the way, is there any reason why the need to upgrade the XB700? It does fit the bill of looks and function for you.

Well the reason is I just feel it's time to upgrade to a better pair of headphones. The XB700's are good but after about 15 minute of wearing your ears get HOT.
Also since there so big it hard to take them around.

Thanks the the m50 suggestion they do look good and when I searched the forums most people praised them. I guess there a serious contender now.
