So I've ben on a my Peachtree Decco 2 for desktop and Sony A45 for the longest time.

I just bought a FiiO M11 and it made me realize how much I've been missing out on my music as it absolutely destroys both of those. The details this little DAP can pull out is truely amazing.

Headphones I'm using are the AudioQuest Nighthawk and Dan Clark Aeon Open X. They're both different and I love different.

Mobile I don't know much about IEMs but my experience has been with the Thinksound TS01 which I stopped using after i got my RHA T10. I know people like to crap on the T10 because they don't understand the basic concept of turning the bass down a couple notches to really open them up.

Now I love them but after listening to my Aeons the last couple weeks, I feel like I can find something more detailed on in IEM.

I'm a mid head. I love vocals up front, I love the sound of creamy sound coming from stringed instruments. I'm not a bass head. I love bass that's present and hits hard but I don't need my eardrumbs rattling.

Looking for something that can do it all effortlessly. I go from Alice in Chains, to Enya, to Iced Earth to Brian Culbertson to Cannons to Gunship. I listen to it all except rap and country. I'd like a nice wide sound stage if possible. One thing my RHA do well is that, after turning the bass down so it's not drowning everything out, they open up pretty well.

What should I be looking at. I have a max of 500, if it's actually worth it. Otherwise around 250 would be best.

FiiO FA7 looks nice but then I saw the FA9, they look neat but are the FA9 REALLY worth it?

I read the FH7 was pretty damn good on the sound stage. What about the FH5? What's the difference between the FA series and the FH?

Are open back IEM a thing?

These will be used on my FiiO M11 and I tend to use them for a while so comfort is pretty important.

U can read about the LZ A7 ($300ish USD).

It has good tonality, timbre and technicalities. Best part is that it has a tuning switch and tuning nozzles, so it can be customized to different sound signatures. This can suit different sonic preferences, music genres and moods, very very versatile as such.

For a midrange specialist, I would recommend the Mangird Tea, the Penon Orb, Tanchjim Oxygen, or a modded iBasso IT00. It’s new, and there’s not much information out there on it yet, but the ThieAudio Legacy 5 would be another consideration.

If you don’t have an aversion to a pronounced upper midrange, I would look into the NF Audio NM2+ (one of my all-time favorites) and the JVC FDX1 or FD01.

Do you have a preference regarding driver type (all-BA, hybrid, single-DD)? Any needs with regards to isolation, other non-sonic factors?

It seems that for what you’re looking for, I wouldn’t spend much more than $300. If you want something significantly better than IEMs in this range, you will have to jump to the $700-$800 range, for IEMs like the ThieAudio Monarch or Clairvoyance, Shuoer EJ07, Penon Volt.

That's what an EQ is for.

Anywho, back on topic.
