Hi everyone. I just bought a pair of Bose 901s (series v) and equalizer and am totally out of my depth to pick the rest of the system. My goal is to listen to a broad range of music in my home. It will not be home theatre. Just 2 speakers that I might expand to sub woofer some day. My living room will be its location and I have good space.
I want it to sound as true to the actual recording as I can get. I occasionally I might have a party, but I am not a fan of loud. I have around $1000 to spend on the power amp and separate receiver or pre-amp. I think I want the crown xls 2002 power amp, as the speakers are huge power pigs and this gives me 575 wpc at 8 ohms. As a bare min, I need 300 wpc I have been told. Crown's cooling fan will only kick on when needed and is dynamic so it shouldn't be too loud. I want a receiver or a pre-amp that will work well with the needs of running the Bose equalizer. Receivers need pre-outs I think, but not sure if a pre-amp does. I also want it to be Bluetooth enabled so I can stream serius xm too.
