well im choosing right now weather to spend money now and buy a av710 or save up to get a EMU 0404 ... ive been reading that the 0404 can and WILL blow the av710 away

Ide only recommend the AV710 I you plan on getting an external DAC...

Considering that kenneth_kpe is on a tight budget (and therefore an external DAC is probably out of consideration as of right now), I would recommend the EMU0404 right off. The EMU0404 will still allow for lineout, so he'll be set if he goes for the DAC later on.

[size=xx-small]On an unrelated note, I actually downgraded from the EMU0404 to the AV-710. Or more accurately, my friend took my EMU0404 about 9 months ago!

time to save for an 0404! and ive got a pa2v2 coming in around 2 weeks maybe

im confused with the EMU 0404 however, i looked at the sound card and its I/O faceplate... it doesn't look familiar !! how do i connect my pa2v2 or any home stereo component to it ? my home stereo has RCA ins but the PA2V2 has only a 3.5 mm line in right ?

is this the reason for the breakout cable mod im reading around for the 0404 ?

0404 comes with a breakout cable but not as good as the custom made one.
