Hi there everyone!
This is my first post on Head-Fi so go easy on me !

I've been searching and lurking here for a while, gathering up some info on some phones. Basically I brought the options down to a few headphones, and thought I'd see what you would recommend for the different types of music or sound that I like.

I like a deep stretching, defined bass. I like smooth and buttery sound over analytical, but I like my higher end to be well quite defined. As for soundstage, I like an open airy sound but I would prefer a closed phone. However, I will consider open ones.
Music: A lot of electronica- trance, dance, and house music. Low end presence is important, but I dont want it too fatiguing.
Also listen to a lot of female vocal music
Finally, full orchestral music with an emphasis on strings.
My music tastes are quite eclectic, but this makes up the bulk of my listening.

HEADPHONE OPTIONS:
Behringer DT770
Audio-Technica A900
Audio-Technica AD900
Sennheiser HD600

AMPS: was considering a Headphonia amp or 1ha-epc

Please let me know your suggestions!
Thanks!

The AD900 I have. Sound amazing without an amp. Reason I got it...no amp

They are completely open. These things are like speakers, people will definitely hear what you listening to. I don't know if that's the reason why you prefer closed headphones.

Also I think you get more bass from closed headphones. But for the AD900, I think the bass is precise in that it sounds like the bass you hear in concert or recital. Its not artificial sounding like you get from some phones that try to boost the bass.

Keep in mind, these things are like speakers, anyone near you will hear your music.
