When I recently moved, I broke my Eggos

So now I'm shopping for a new pair of portable headphones. After reading this forum, HeadRoom, and Headphonereviews, I've limited my choices between the Sennheiser PX100, the Senheiser HD25-SP, and the AKG K26.

My first concern is comfort, because I'll be wearing these phones walking around campus pretty much all day, so I want them to be comfortable. The Eggos I owned was just about the right size for my ear, and even though the phones I'm considering are not circum-aural, I'd prefer a pair that doesn't really press down too much on my ears. My second priority is construction because I don't want to break them again like I broke my Eggo. Third priority is leakage. I am not extremely anal about this issue, and if they are comparable to the leakage in the Eggos I'm fine with that.

As for sound quality, I'd prefer a well-rounded pair of phones than phones that excel in a certain area because my music collection is pretty eclectic. And my budget is only about 100 dollars.

If all else fails, I might get another pair of Eggos, but this just gives me an excuse to try other phones.

So I would really appreciate any inputs you guys can give.

Sorry about your eggos man. Btw, what part(s) broke? There are people on this forum that will purchase eggo parts.

PX100 > K26 in comfort hands down. I often feel like I'm not even wearing them. K26 clamps more and the pleather pads can heat the ears up. That said, the AKGs can be acceptable for non-extended usage imo.

PX100 is more balanced in sound compared to K26. Midrange isn't as upfront and nice as D66, but still highly acceptable.

PX100 doesn't leak as much as a lot of open phones. Main concern should be lack of isolation from outside noises, which will make it harder to hear details and overall music. They work really well in quiet rooms/areas.

In the $100 closed headphone range, there doesn't seem to be anything that can come close to the small size and sound quality compromise of the D66. (I don't consider HD280s to be small in terms of portability

). Perhaps more alternatives could be canalphones like Ety ER6i? (I can't comment on them though.)

If you really do enjoy the SQ of the Sonys, I'd go for it. I've tried many different flavors and have always gone back to them for some reason.

Well, I can't really compare the sound of the Eggos to anything else because I have only owned the Eggos so far. But right now I'm on my stock iPod earphones, and they sad absolutely horrible.

Also I forgot to mention that I wear glasses, and I don't really want phones that press against them.

I also looked up the ATH-FC7, and I like their looks, but how comfortable are they? And how much do they leak? I'm more concerned about leakage than isolation because I will be using these phones in the library.
