Hey, I'm a noob to the forum. So Hi everyone, the name's Randy. Nice to meet ya.

I've been looking for the best quality headphones I can get in the 2-3 hundred range. I don't have much experience with expensive audiophile headphones, but I definitely want some and now I have the money so I need some help. I've narrowed my decision down to the ms2, ath-ad900, sr-80, and the dt-770.

Although, I have been looking at a bunch of others and im open to anyone else's suggestions. I would appreciate it very much if any of you would help me decide on which I should get, either suggest others or out of the ones I mentioned. I've looked throughout headfi for a long time, just haven't posted so i've exhausted the info i could get from reading and reviews and so on.

I'll be listening to mostly rock, but I am open to all styles of music. These ones will be strictly for home, so size doesn't matter, nor does noise cancellation matter. And they'll be over the ear.

I was pming Kirosia for a few days and he helped me a lot, so thanks to him, but since I'm still on the edge of deciding before I buy very shortly I'd like your opinions please. Thanks.

if the DT770's are in the list, then you will also need an amp. plus, they have bass heavy sound which the rest of the headphones dont have in your list.

Would you guys also recommend I get one of the models I said in my list or a different model? I was actually nearly set on the Audio Technica Ath-Ad900s but I don't know.. anyone? I just want to be sure I'm getting the best I can. I suppose the "best" is also very subjective so eh.. but still you know what i mean.

Yeah, I was thinking about those also. And the 325is as well. I should have put them in the short list as well. I guess they're not too comfortable though. But if the audio's worth it then i'd go with them. for some reason im more set on the ad900s even though i havent heard as much about them as all the others. what i have heard was good though.
basically atm im thinking it's between the ad900, 225/325i, and the ms2.

stringz, you keep referring to the ad900, but you mean at900, am I correct? If so, keep that mind so you dont end up with the wrong phone.

I only assume this because not many have the ad, but lots have the at, which receives much praise.
