Hi, I recently purchased a stack from schiit and as soon as I got it I've tried setting it up but when I plugged in my 6xx to the audio jack using a 1/4 connector I don't hear any sound coming from it. At first, I thought my unit is busted, but upon checking I accidentally plugged in a 110v adapter to a 220v socket since I'm from Asia. I just want to ask if there's still a chance that my unit still works and that I just have to buy a new wallwart from them since 14-16vAC adapters are hard to come by especially in our country.

I've also check the inside of the magni and took some photos of it:

Thank you so much for your help.

At the very least you'll need a replacement power brick. No way to tell if the amp is undamaged before then.

And just out of curiosity...why get the US power brick? Philippines might use US plugs but we generally don't trust Meralco et al, and the UK plug fits into voltage regulators while the EU plugs fit into many power strip+surge protectors you can get from any hardware. I don't use anything less than the latter for audio equipment and if it's near a computer I'd hook it up to the same power strip feeding the voltage regulator for the computer.

Yes, that was really my bad. Got the US power brick for convenience so I don't have to use a converter, also should have plugged it on an AVR but I've plugged it in an extension wire that is connected to my UPS but I think its only feeding 220v. Just want to know if there's still a possibility that my unit is not busted.

There's a possibility that you just need new brick.

The problem is there's no sure way to tell until you order a new power brick, unless you know how to measure every point on that board with a multimeter to make sure it checks out.

I really hope so too, problem is trying to find an adapter here in PH seems difficult since most of the adapters that I saw only outputs DC so I might just have to order a brick from Schiit. Shipping's more expensive than the brick though.

I just really hope it still works.

Thank you.
