Sorry if i'm doing anything wrong on this forum. I've been meaning to get my boyfriend a new pair of headphones because he's too frugal to treat himself, and his pair broke almost a month ago and he's using old ear buds right now. He's not used to really really good headphones, i think his last pair were Sony MDR-V150, so really cheap. I don't know if it matters so much what i get him if he's used to those.

I was thinking of Sony MDR-V6, but i read they aren't as good for classical music, and he listens to classic as well as soundtracks and vocal/rock/etc. So a pretty well rounded music collection, do you guys think getting him those would not be a good idea, is there a better choice for about $70 or less? Would he be able to tell the difference anyway? They'll probably be plugged into a laptop or computer of some sort, so any additions i don't think we can do.

I guess just suggestions for well rounded headphones for about $70 or less...

if not then Grado SR-60(http://www.headphone.com/products/he...rado-sr-60.php), Sennheiser PX100(http://www.headphone.com/products/he...ser-px-100.php), or AKG K26P(http://www.headphone.com/products/he...akg-k-26-p.php)

I prefer V6 over SR-60 and PX-100. The V6 are good for classic because of their flat bright treble.

True. They are both excellent choices.

Good Luck!

Oh... welcome to head-fi...
