The HD700 is apparently good for classical, maybe a used one would fit your budget!

If you don’t have a amp right now then I think the HiFiMan HE-400S would be a very good fit as they don’t need a lot of power to run but will respond well with a little more as with most any headphone. I don’t listen to a lot of classical music but do like a string quartet every now and then and theses do it well. They are very polite meaning they will not be overly bright or overly bassy and they have a very good soundstage.

The 600’s are definitely the most neutral of those but does lack soundstage but I think sound better than the others with a good amp. The AKG’s will have the better soundstage and a more open sound but will be a bit brighter (have to say it has been a bit since I have heard them so take that into account). I think the 600’s would render the music better but the AKG’s would open it up a bit more.

Thanks! You have this rig?

I have the Meier Cantate.2 (older model than the Jazz FF) and HD600. K701 has better imaging.

Little Dot MkII has more spacious imaging with the K701 however it really makes it sound like a tin can as OTL tube amps have a high output impedance, not to mention it makes less power at low impedance also. There's a balanced drive Little Dot OTL that basically runs two MkIII's at dual mono differential just to get more power at low impedance (it still makes a heck of a lot more power at 300ohms, as any OTL amp would), but it's huge and heavy. I'd just stick with a Meier amp and use Crossfeed for a more coherent soundstage.
