I'm in need of some closed headphones, I'll be listening in places that need to have minimal leak, and I'm looking to pay around $100-150. I mainly listen to electronica-type music, but not exclusively, so I want something that has a strong, but not overpowering bass.

I've been reading around a little and some good stuff in my range seems like the SRH840, Sony V6, Denon 1001k, and the AT M50, but I don't know much about things like their seal and bass, they just seem like good headphones in that range.

Any help would be great, obviously I'm open to other suggestions, too, beyond the things I've looked at.

if money is an issue.. the sony mdr-v6 is a great choice... otherwise i would go for either the shure srh840 or an ultrasone (they do well w/ electronic)

the V6 is pretty "bass-weak". i own a pair... they're quite bright. i wouldn't reccomend them for your music. Go for the Shure SRH840

Sennheiser HD25-1 ii . search and read. great sound. amp unnecessary. the best isolation. bass is very good. perform WAY beond their price point.

I have the HD280s and the ATH-M50S. I like the HD280s for electronica music better than I do for the ATH-M50S. The HD280s have a more immersive, head-filling bass, like you would get with a dedicated subwoofer, while the ATH-M50S is more controlled and accurate, like using studio monitors. The high's on the ATH-M50S is cleaner and crisper (I've had to EQ the highs down lower than my HD280 for my tastes), however, I don't think it does very well with music that has a focus on vocals, for that I prefer my HD280s. With the HD280s, it's like have a floor standing speaker dedicated to vocals, but with the M50S, the vocals just come out of the monitors just like everything else.

As for isolation, the HD280s win no contest. The M50S almost sound open in relation to the HD280, almost. The M50S only attenuates sounds above 1Khz or so, and not very well.

I don't think any of them are a bad choice.

I love my Denon D1001's, but I bet the Shure's are the best for the money.

I got my D1001's for $63, and since you can't get them that cheap anymore... I'd say get the SRH840's

The MDR V6 isn't weak on bass, bass is still there but not dominant. The V6 has a very nice balance.

The Creative Aurvana Live is good too, though isolation and sound leakage are ever present. The sound is very balanced and sweet. They sound more pleasant than the V6's.
