Hey guys,

I currently have a Xonar Essense STX connected to the Microlabs SOLO 6C and I wanted to add a subwoofer to compliment them.

I was wondering how do i go about connecting a subwoofer to this setup ? all help will be appreciated.

Also i have a yamaha sw-p130 subwoofer lying around which i was intending to connect, i used to connect it to an amplifier in days gone by but i no longer have an amp.

Thank you.

Minimally, you need a subwoofer that has left/right RCA inputs. Then you split the line out from the STX and run it to both the speakers and the sub.

A very, very large majority of home audio subwoofers come with built in amps. That's why you need one with RCA inputs. The line level output on your STX card is meant to go to an amplifier.

Where are you located? And what is your budget?
