HI all,
I'm looking at getting a zahoulu 2.5 with amp upgrade but saw that they are offering a new 3.0 version and i read what they listed but i don't know what kind of improvement their is if any. i would only pay the extra if its a noticeable improvement not a subtle one . can anyone tell me what the big difference is between the models. Im looking at the 2.5 because it also has an amp w/amp upgrade option,but was just wondering if i should go with the latest version and if its worth it?

Haven't heard many comments on the 3.0 yet. However you need to go back and look again at the specs of the 2.5 vs the 3.0 as AFAIK there are things different on both. I think there might not be a headphone amp on the 3.0 but I could be wrong on that.... also I think it doesn't have the same inputs/outputs.

yeah one doesnt have an amp and one has a diff connection but in terms of sq i would think they are about the same the upgrades they did are prolly not gonna me that big of a difference i guess thats what im trying to figure out?

the 2.5 was available with AD1852 and CS4398 DAC chips, the 3 is only available with CS4398 and yes, has no amp

as far as SQ comparisons go there aren't many people who have heard both (yet)
