Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I've done several searches and read over tons of posts here. The varied opinions have probably made my decision tougher rather than easier. I'm trying to choose a back-up earbud or canal-type phone for ipod use, including in the gym, on plane, etc. Looking to spend $20 to $70.
Can I get some comments on MD33 ($39 at audiocubes) vs. EX71 ($22.99 right now on overstock.com) vs. MX 550 $24.99 at my local hi-fi buys). I'm leaning towards the MD33's based upon comments of bloated bass of the 71's. I also like the idea of the idea of the 550's since I can buy them locally and don't have to wait to get them. But if isolation and better bass are important, am I better off w/MD33's?
I had a set of shure E3's in the past. I enjoyed them a lot, especially the isolation, but recently returned them due to a short/defect issue. Decided to return rather than exchange and am waiting on delivery of my E4(black). All I have right now for portable use are some $8 sony earbuds which I've decided I can't stand for another freaking day.
TIA
p.s. since finding this site in January it seems like I spend about 3 hours a day on here.
