I am looking for a new cd player to replace my old early '90 sansui. My setup consists of a NAD C320 integrated and Epos M12 speakers.
The options I'm considering are:
NAD 521i - my main contender
Marantz CD-6000 OSE LE - how does this compare to the NAD?
Harman Kardon HK-750 - does anyone have any an opinion on this player? It had HDCD decoding and goes for a very good price but I could not find a single review and cannot hear it together with the other models.
Cambridge Audio D-500SE - another one I cannot hear together with the others.
NAD 541i - The best one but out of my price range (unless I really really like it

Any opinions are more then welcome.

Hi...

What sort of sound are you after...

The only one I can even remotely comment on is the Marantz, me having one of its older brothers...

If they have a similar sonic signature, then the 6000SE will have a nice, punchy treble, a rich midrange, and smooth highs...

As to the rest? can't help... although the NADs are consistently well reviewed

I have the Cambridge. I listen to it through a Headroom Premium Little and Sennheiser HD580 phones.

I find it disappointing, after hearing and reading all the hype.
It is built ok. Sound is ok, but not high end. It is clean it in what it does, but does not give audiophile level detail.
