I dont know much about iem's.. since the only piece of quality phones i have is the px100. I want to buy an iem for more portability, and a bit of isolation will do. My portable dap is a Samsung t9 and i mainly listen to R&B, rock, and house music. I dont use EQ, since i want the music i listen to the way its meant to be heard.

As for your reviews here, im quite interested to the er6i. but i think the bass has not enough power to play some hip-hop and house music. Is there an iem that has a clear sound like an er6i(or comes pretty close) but has more powerful clean & punchy bass(but not muddy)? I also dont use an amp, for more portability.

My budget is around $100.. no more greater than that. Thanks a lot, more power to the forum.

Samsungs can usually EQ some bass in there, so I would say Super.fi 3 or Etymotic.

sorry, I still prefer the ER-6i though. Every time I listen to it, it reminds me that I don't need another IEM as it's PERFECT for me, and I don't think I'll ever sell it or break it (knock on wood).

I think I need those. I'm starting to think I need everything I read about on here. Maybe its a good thing buy.com sold out of im616s so I can pick these up....What is happening to me?

I got the ER-6i's and they are sensational. They were my entry-level IEM. The first time I put them in at school and walked the busy, noisy hallways, I was blown away because I could keep them at a comfortable volume and still hear everything clearly, above the hallway noise which was virtually unnoticeable anymore because of the excellent isolation in the 6i's.

Altec Landings on for like $39 bucks. should be somewhere near the starting page of this forum...pretty much rebranded etys, but still very much respectable in clarity.

If you want bass, then I'd look elsewhere. Even the UE sf.3s lack a bit in the department, however I like it this way since the bass that is there is accurate and doesn't overpower the mids.

Are you really looking for IEMs or just sealing inner-ears that will get the job done during a commute? You'll find more options with canalphones at the cost of microphonic noise, otherwise I'd look into the Shure line of IEMs that are known to be darker-sounding, but still decent none the less.
