i bought a 3.5mm jackplug with 3-conductors (soderless) i tried to connect it to a cable with 3 different color wires. the jackplug have a shortest screw, medium screw and longest screw.

i soder the other end of the cable to a headphone driver, except it only accomodate 2 wires, but it should still work shouldnt it?

whatever i try there is no sound coming out of the driver. which color wire should go to which screw, base on the color of the wire that is already sodered into the driver?

The copper wire shuold connect to the longest screw, the black to the shortest and the red to the middle. I think that's right anyway, at worst that will give you reverse stereo.

Make sure your conncetions actually happen. Do the coloured wires need stipping?

ring->red->right

tip->blue->left

sleeve->copper->ground

Switch the copper wire which you have soldered to the headphone driver with the red wire, I think the copper would go to that patch of solder between the left and right on the headphone driver.

thank you so much! by following the advices i wasn't only able to make the left driver work, but i soldered a cable between the two drivers and made them both work too.

so...to make an interconnect all i have to do is solder a jackplug to each end of the cable?

humm...i just realized your mini-jack dosent have a clamp that clamps onto the rubber part of your cable.

that means you will be putting a lot of stress on those three thiny wires, and they are very weak and rip very easliy

Yup. Pretty simple and well worth the money IMO.

Now go make yourself some interconnects!
