I'm not sure what forum to post this on, but I'll try it out here:

Can anyone recommend some reading to help a newbie understand all the technical stuff I'm reading about? I don't have much "science-sense", but I'd love to have a clue about the Ohms and amps and volts and diagrams, etc. I have no idea what any of it means.

I suppose I could go to the library and look for an electronics text book or something, but does anyone have a good primer to recommend?

I use a book called ELECTRONICS the easy way (third edition) as a reference my self. Its published by Barrons Educational series INC. it has all that electronics "stuff" in it including formulas, ect. It also has a cool chapter on Opamps

you could also check the links section of the DIY forum. Many of the manuals and much of the information can be downloaded as a pdf then printed out for a hard copy
