Yes--when last I checked a minimum number of posts and time on the forum were required.  You should probably check the FAQ's.

Spamming is not a good idea. Why not instead post a thread asking your question here in the Introductions, Help, and Recommendations section?

EDIT

Dug around and found an FAQ item that also mentions a 15 day waiting period in lieu of ten posts, so you could probably just wait.

I'm assuming the ten post/15 day thing is a common cutoff, not just a cutoff for the community profile. That could be wrong though - it's just what I was able to find and an educated guess.
