I'm kinda in a predicament ...

I'm looking for a closed portable headphone under $150 . Probably something that could be powered off of a phone, and also a headphone that's really neutral.  I bought a pair of Momentum 2s and am selling them because there treble is to rolled off and its bass is just a touch to much for me.

Any suggestions would be appreciated as I am a newbie.

Thanks!

There are not a ton of options for closed in this price range, unfortunately. The two that come to mind in your general price range are the AKG K545 and the SoundMAGIC HP150. Both are fairly neutral, the K545 more so (the HP150 is ever so slightly v-shaped), and relatively portable--esp the AKG. You will not find either to be too excessive in the bass department and the treble is not rolled off. The AKG is the more durable of the two. I am not recommending the M50X because it has a fairly profound bass response. Likewise the Samson Z55, which is just going to have too much bass for you, even though it is a good headphone. Likewise the DT770--just too much oomph down low.

Thanks.  The Soundmagic 150s look like a strong possibility.  I'll also wanted to ask for your opinion on the Sony mdr-7506 and the m40x.  Maybe even the 598cs even though I know there not exactly completely neutral.
