i've been looking at o2+odac, pretty set on getting it, then i saw the element, then i wanted that instead, then i saw tube amps, im like hmm, this is neverending

i like to own 1-2 things at most, when its not in use, i feel like its better off being sold off, and also id like to get the best at a reasonable price, best also meaning the QC is excellent, i dont like to do RMA's, very annoying, so the quality is important

i am currently looking at:
1. o2+odac from jds labs or mayflower
2. element from jds labs
3. asus essence stx ii 7.1

main uses:
1. desktop/laptop (movie, gaming, music)
2. iphone (music)
3. ps4 (gaming)

what do you guys recommend me to get for under $500? i see a lot of people get the o2/dac but they also prefer something else down the line, so it sounds like a good starting point

thanks !

I picked up a Chord Mojo recently and have not looked back. It is an excellent DAC and amp and is very portable. It pairs well with your iPhone and will work with your PC as well. I am not sure how DACs fare with gaming devices. And, it can drive full size and portable headphones and IEMs well.

It runs for $600 new but can be picked up for $400 - $500 used. It will be worth your while to read a few reviews. That's my $.02. Hope it helps.
