Hi

Thought I would sing up here and see what this place is all about.
There seems to be a great deal of information here and hopefully some things that will help me out a bit.

I must confess that headphones are not my preferred listening method as I am very much into my Hi-Fi.
I do, however listen to music through headphones for hours each day at work.

Portable bits I own are

Grado SR80 - slightly modified with the badges and grills replaced with an open steel mesh and fitted a 1/4 Neutrik jack.
They are not being used at the moment as I have nothing to drive them properly.

Koss Porta Pro
iPod 5th Gen Classic
SanDisk Sansa Clip
A really rough TL072 based (I know, I know!) DIY Cmoy

The Koss and Clip are what I use the most at work in the workshop where it is quite noisy and I use the Koss and iPod
in the office as I can actually hear my music.

There are a few DIY projects I would like to do, plus I am possibly going to be after a new set of cans for at work.
So here for advice as much as anything else!

Cheers
Karl

Yo karld

I'm a fellow junior but I've been looking around the forums quite a bit. If you're looking for a good set of cans for a certain budget you could check out tyll's innerfidelity wall of fame page (just google innerfidelity wall of fame should take you there). He's got a page of his favourite headphones by price range. That might be a good place to start

That's actually a pretty good start.

Oh and tyll is a veteran headfier so you should have no probs trusting his reviews

Thanks, but as the saying goes, it's the OP's ears that count.

I'd suggest a listen to the NAD VISO HP50...very good for the price.
