I'm looking at putting a ppa with crossfeed in the Lansing Micropak EQ1 box (I think the standard Hammond one is too tall for good proportions, and the shorter Hammond doesn't fit the Alps pot...)

Anyways, what I was curious about was whether there is enough room to put the ppa (with the crossfeed mounted upside-down) in the EQ1 box.

Anyone know? Tangent?

Thanks.

Well, the spacers he includes have a 3/4" rise (I'm like 99% sure), and if you use the same caps he suggests (ECQ-P's, digikey's got 'em) then you've got something like another 1/2" for those parts. But if you can just flip it upside-down without the x-feed parts interfering with the parts under it, you should be good to go with about a 1.5" tall case maybe. I not totally sure, so someone please correct me if im wrong.

But the shorter hammond isn't even an option since it wont fit the PPA board in it.

The spacers I include with the board are indeed 3/4", but you can also get them in 5/8" and 1/2" from Mouser. 1/2" is the lowest you'd want to go, since you'll have a tough time finding C4s and C5s shorter than that.

If height above the board is critical, you can bend the caps over so they're parallel with the board, or you can use polyester box caps. The new larger crossfeed boards make it easier to bend the caps over this way than in the previous version.
