The Heed/701 combo is thoroughly chronicled in the massive Heed thread. There are very few dissenting posts. The Heed has the clarity and current to make the 701 shine. It warms up the upper registers and adds to the lower registers. If you add a recable to the mix you have the perfect storm.

IMO the Heed CanAmp and the AKG K701 are made for each other. Quite a few posters have indicated so.
