Hello guys I made up my mind to get this headphone instead of the new Fostex TH1100.
Cool, let us know how they sound!

I'm waiting to see some graphs and reviews before bothering Claudius again :D

Very easy! It's magnetic and press fit. So just pull them off and when you place them back on, just press down till it's made contact at the base. Be mindful of L & R (stickers on the back)
Just adding that the GT pads are not attached magnetically, same method as with the TWO, your pressing them slightly onto the shell and they snap on. Very easy indeed. See here - Earpad exchange

As the only other "flagship caliber" headphones I own are all ZMFs, the only comparison I can conjure up is, to my ears, the GT is almost like a combination of both the Atrium open and Caldera open. Which is to say, effin' fantastic! It has the mid-forward intimacy and weighty, textured bass of the Atrium along with the speed and crystal clear/razor edged precision of the Caldera. *chef's kiss*
That sounds really, really nice! I haven’t personally heard any ZMF (will audition an Atrium open next week though!), but from what I’ve gathered the ZMFs generally, herein also the Caldera open, are praised for their note weight and musical enjoyment.

Any thoughts on how the GT stacks up here? Also (and this is less essential), how do they compare soundstage wise?

Why does the headband remind me of Meze and Audeze... it's just my opinion...anyways I bought it so I am excited

Ok so, as much as I'm enjoying the AMT driver right now, I did some A/B switching with my Atrium open last night (on my ZMF Aegis and bypassed the iFi Pro iCAN Sig as a preamp so no xbass boost) and it's definitely a cut above the H2 GT in all areas. Now I only had time to listen to a single test track, though, so this is far from an extensive comparison... but I feel the Atrium has an overall more refined sound.

The H2 GT has more bass quantity for sure but the Atrium eeks out in quality; slightly more articulate, tight, controlled and textured. Definitely a larger soundstage too or at least a more spread out sense of dimensionality as I would describe it. The GT positions a lot of sounds directly between the two drivers, dead center. The Atrium seems to avoid this as much as possible and it's beautiful.

While switching back and forth, I found myself getting lost in the music with the Atrium more often and actually finishing the track before switching back to the GT, so that says a lot.

However, like I said; only one test track. The H2 GT could still open up after more hours of breaking in.

Also, should mention the suede earpads are extremely comfortable but ZMF still wins in this department too.

I feel like I should expand a little bit on my assessment of the H2 GT and ZMF Atrium open. Specifically, on the soundstage/dimensionality aspect. It's possible that the expanded stereoscopics of the Atrium is a result of tuning "coloration" and the GT's presentation is actually more true to the recording as is. So, in other words, just more neutral than the Atrium, which isn't a surprise to anyone, I'm sure.

That being said, the Atrium's potential coloration is a definite treat for the ears.

That’s the impression I got from demoing them. The soundstage on them is as vast as the recording allows it to be - the Heddphones 2 GT don’t try to enhance it, nor do they shrink it, they just show it how it is.

One of the tracks I listened to was Enter Sandman. I know it well and it’s very well mixed. On many headphones it can sound huge but also kind of „hollow”. Here 2 GT sounded really expansive, with amazing separation and clear hints of all kinds of studio effects, but at the same with feeling of natural-sized space around instruments.

Both snare attack and decay was just perfect and very minute details about drum sound in general were very easy to pick out. Overall all kinds of tiny details were nicely presented, just waiting for a listener to focus on them. For me in some regards it was more detailed than the new Susvara Unveiled, possibly for some people at the cost of sounding a little bit tiring at high volumes. I feel like it might have a little bit too much energy somewhere in the higher midrange (3-4kHz, but that’s just a guess).

I feel like not a lot of impressions are talking about bass, because these headphones do a lot of things so well (timbre, attack and decay, details, natural soundstage), that the very good bass doesn’t stand out so much.

In comparison Hifiman HE1000 Unveiled or Arya Organic sounded kind of „fake” with forced big soundstage and plasticky midrange/treble timbre. One thing that Hifimans did better was bass rumble with nice decay, but overall punch and attack was better on Heddphones 2 GT.

Big thank you to April at Headphones.com.

My Heddphone Two GTs are seemingly stuck in some sort of clearing house/broker purgatory. April is on the job working to get my GTs out of this suspended state and into the UPS delivery system and ultimately to me.

So sorry to hear that, Robert! Hope it will be resolved quickly, and that you can share your feedback here. All best F // HEDD

Best of luck to you! I'm really liking the GTC cable that came free with the Headphones.com order. It just drips premium and the microphonics are about as low as it gets with braided HP cables. Difference in sound quality over the stock cable is perceptible too. It's difficult to put my finger on why exactly, but I do find it a touch more engaging somehow. Richer/fuller, slightly smoother and punchier perhaps.
