Hey guys I just got a pair of Grado SR-325i. Beautiful headphone, silky smooth, and ultra clear sound. However... occasionally I hear a pop or click in the right driver of the headphone. I know its NOT clipping because I'll hear it at random times even when its completely quiet.

Is this natural? Are there components inside that are just settling in? Maybe loosening up? Is it the aluminum casing getting looser? I can't tell and I don't want to return them =(

I tried wiggling the cord to see if it's maybe a cord problem but nothing. The sound is completely random and I know it's not my music because I don't hear it in other headphones. I also try rewinding the song to see if i hear it agaon but it's not related to the music.

I'm hoping someone here has experienced this before. Any help would be much appreciated.

Also, just in case this helps it's being driven by a Headroom Desktop Amp w/ DAC coming from my MacBook.

I can't offer any help I'm afraid...

However I also have this in my Allesandro MS-2's (along with a vibration sound with moderate volumes when the low freq's get down the bottom end

)

Would be very interested in ppl's thoughts about this too.

well 1st make sure its not hair or related objects in the driver. If nothing is there, call Grado and get it fixed under warranty, or pay a small fee if you are out of warranty

This might sound like a stupid question to those who know... but how can I go about that? It's kinda dark in there and a torch doesn't seem to help... Is there any way to open them up (without doing any damage)?

Thanks

volcomjerk-

I don't know if this will help but I did notice that you and the poster below having the same problem are running these out of a computer. What could be happening is something computer related. This could be not enough memory or something else like that or a program on the computer doing something. What are the specs on the computers?

(I think you're refering to me)

The headphones aren't actually attached to the computer... the squeezebox is a networked audio device and that's definately not the problem as it's repeatable on certain tracks when the bass gets heavy but doesn't occur on any other headphones or speakers.

I'm running it from an Amp with a DAC and I know it's not the computer because the problem doesn't exist on other headphones. Just the Grado's.
