I have the Sony WH1000XM2 and i notice if i take them off or halfway off i hear crackling but when i put them back on they're fine and don't hear any crackling. Why is that that?

Is the crackling happening as you move the headphone pads off you/onto you? That can just be the pads. If it's happening continuously when your headphones are just sitting there and not on your head I've got no idea then.
