Hi
I have been browsing these forums for quite a while now.
The thing i have been looking for is a headset for music, gaming and movies, i like almost all kind of music, not so much hard rock but sometimes rock classic music and songs with alot guitar and piano kinda of an overall music headset. My source is the Pc with a decent dac and a preamp with headphone output. I mainly use music with losless format.

The headset has to cover the whole ear but it's not that important if it's closed or open.
I would like it to be as comfortable as possible.

The headsets i have considered so far:

Sennheiser HD600

Sennheiser HD650

and

Beyerdynamic DT770 PRO

My price range is 200-300 USD but I can go a little further if the performance improves much.

Thanks in advance

Any suggestions for a good diy amp for them?

CKKIII, PPAv2, M3, B22 for solid state.
SOHAII, Millet Hybrid, EHA for hybrid
Bijou or one of the many headwize tube headamps for an all tube design.

I have the Beyerdynamic DT770-80 which I purchased after looking for a headphone that would be good in gaming. I find the headphones very comfortable and good for movies, gaming and music. I find them much better than the Grado SR-60's for movies and gaming with the Grado's being good for certain types of music such as rock etc. I have heard my friend's Grado SR325i and from that experience wouldn't recommend Grado's for gaming or movies. The grado's are not as comfortable imo and the bass isn't as strong as I would like for movies/gaming. The DT770's have a good amount of bass and the ability to localize enemy positions in first person shooter games makes this my gaming headphone of choice at the moment. I'm currently looking into Denon D2000 or D5000 headphones as I believe they have similar yet more refined qualities I like in the DT770's. I may be sacrificing some comfort on the Denon's compared to the Beyerdynamic's however I fully expect cleaner sound from low, mid and high frequencies.
