HI: A few members asked fore a review on the headsave transit amp. So I will try to do one to my best ability. The transit is a meta42 portable amp. It is housed in a black serpac H67 case. Dimensions of case are 4.94 long x 2.75 wide x 1.28 high. It is very lightweight. It has in the front of it a volume nob, a 1/8" input headphone jack, and a toggle switch for on off, plus a blue led light. On the one side of it is a 1/8" input for the source. Under it is a sliding slide to reveal the batt compartment. When you order the transit you can get the basic with a basic op-amp and one 9 volt batt and volume control or a upgrade transit with a 8620 op-amp and two 9 volt batt and a alps blue volume control for a little more money. The transit amp sounds really great fore a portable amp. It has great detail and great highs and mid range and a great bass slam. It runs my SR-225 with authority and awesome sound from my portable minidisc at only 5 m/w out put. The transit puts out a lot of power fore such a small size amp with the 2 9 volt batt. and is very easy to carry along with you. I put all my portable gear in a shoulder bag and have it all with me when on the go or just moving around the house or back yard. I feel that the transit is a big bang for the buck in a portable amp. For more info on the transit amp go to mall-fi and see TIGGER and go to his web site. Thank you

Thanks for the review, Lou.

Tigger, you need to figure a way to get your web site noticed by the search engines. I did a Yahoo search on "Headsave Transit" and all I got was one hit for head-fi. However there were three hits for "Headshave Transit" (Yahoo's recommended search alternative), which seemed to be about shaving your head while on a bus.

btw. Headsave Transit and Ultra are really catchy names.

Thanks, Lou..
I am currently waiting on my Transit to arrive and was quite anxious to hear how it would sound. From what you are telling me I am in for a big surprise!

Lou,

I seem to recall that you once owned a supermini (v.5?) If so, how does it compare with the Transit in terms of sound quality?
