I just got the Transit and have been using it for two days (operational time is defintely less than 10~15 hours). I used two fully recharged 9V batteries (220mH). It just died on me out of juice today (around 12 hours runtime). Could any of Transit owners comment on how long the batteries last during the initial burn-in?

HI: I am, still using the same batt that I put in on the get go. Why don't you E-Mail tigger about this?

The same batteries? Wow, how;s that possible. Are these re-chargable batteries or the regulars? I fully charged my 220mH 9V before I put them on, so I am confused.

Tigger said check the connection or make sure batteries are full but I think they were...I will write him back again.

Thanks again for your input!

Only 12 hours with Plainview? Say it's not true...
Lou said his is still running with Alkaline. I really don't get it.

Are your 2x9V used in parallell or in serial? I believe Lou has them in parallell with 9V output which should last longer than 2x9V in serial for 18V.

HI: Well said. The reason I got the batt in parallell is for more current for my 32 ohm grado SR-225. This is like a 9 volt batt with another 9 volt batt backing up the batt. The reason I think my amp sounds so good with my grados is the current is double the 9 volt batt. The grados really don't need power they need current and 9 volts is planty fore portable use but double the current makes my grado SR-225 sound really great. Also wired this way I get great batt time and am still using my first set of batt.

Lou...

...two batteries in parallel (other than two in series) don't change the sound, they just last longer.

HI. Two batt wiered in parallel add twice as much current and grados need lots of current because of the 32 ohm so that does make the grados sound better. At least my grados sound better with the TRANSIT amp this way. Have you heard the TRANSIT wired this way? I say this in Friendship and mean no pun.

HI: E-mail TIGGER and ask how he wiring your TRANSIT? Higher ohm-age headphones need more voltage so wiring in series would give them more voltage 18 volts but wiring in parallel gives 9 volt but twice as much current fore 32 ohm-age headphones. My SR-225 only need 9 volts of power but need lots more current. Now this is in portable mood.

Thanks, Lou..

Tigger just replied and told me mine is in serial. He said he did it for better sound quality but getting only 10 nours run time on two 220maH 9Vs is a serious problem for me. I am all for portability.

If I have to send this back, I won't be seeing it for another 2 week.
