Well, I haven't had much of a chance to listen to my Headsave Classic since it wasn't cased until just now. I'll have to say this is a nice sounding amp (configured w/627's) I'll give it a chance to burn in some more but can tell right away this would be hard pressed to beat for the asking price and more. Norm and I did a special trade deal where I requested an uncased Classic that I intended to make into a woody in preperation to do the same to a Gilmore V1. So now that I've just finished, I thought I'd put up a quick pic. I'll take some in the daylight as this flash pic doesn't really show what the true color of the wood, but oh well... I used a solid piece of Paduak that I hollowed out, no easy task though. It's basically the same size as a PPA, just slightly smaller. I stuck with the supplied jacks, knob, etc. I think the wood fits the "classic" name well...

a very nice case indeed.

I'm sure it has been asked before, but what do you use to hollow out the wood?

that volume knob should be wooden too, or at least some sort of dark coloured knob. black or something... then it would look so elegant...
Larry, are you going for a joint venture with Norm ?

PS: your timing for releasing this wooden classic cant be worse... norm just shipped my amp a few days ago and i just received my cables from you a few days ago... oh well... tough luck for me...

Oh, if you have time, would you mind posting your impressions about headsave classic once youve spent some time with it? (i think the thread is called "post your headsave classic impression" or something...)
it will be sort of "appetizer" for me while im still waiting for its arrival, hehe..

Hey... just realised something... where did the ON/OFF switch go ?

To hollow the wood... various tools and time until Edwood buys me a CNC mill.

This is the only woody classic... so don't fret. I didn't realize the Classic had the on/off on the front, though I did think about putting it there but it wound up in the back. I may think about another knob, I just put the one supplied on without much thought. Once I see it in daylight, I'll go from there.

Nice woody work, Larry (as always). I've been wondering what you've been up to lately...
