I am wondering if anyone out there would know whether the Headsave Classic can drive the Senn HD-580's? I have a pair that the wife got me last Christmas, but my I have since bought a new Integrated that has no input for 'phones. I know that I need an amp anyway, but I don't want to put a ton of $$$ into the amp since it will mainly be used for late-night listening. I am interested in this amp, as well as any comments anyone would care to share.

thanks

Shawn

I'm using the Home-Vibe (similar to Headsave Classic, except smaller power supply section) to drive HD-580s. The answer is yes, it will drive HD580s very well. My personal preference with these headphones is the AD8620 op-amp.

Some people here claim that you need a really pricey amp to get the most of HD580/600. That may be true, but Headsave Classic should do a nice job. I doubt you'll find anything better for remotely close to the price of the Classic.

Shawnboy,

If you're on a low budget, you should also check out the Rega Ear. It drives the senns very well. It's very very sinergistic with the HD 580s.

Cheers,

Thanks for the replies guys! I guess I will have to order myself a new amp shortly. I am very psyched to hear the Classic will work with the 580's since they've just been sitting there collecting dust for the past few months. Thanks again for the help.
