i also saw the isongbook for $99 but opted not to get it. it didnt seem as well designed as the songbook.

The extra speaker is detachable so once it's off it's essentially a Songbook. I believe the main body has the same exact design as the Songbook. I'll know better once I have it tomorrow.

the body is not the same. for one it is regular plastic not rubber coated. and it had a cheaper "feel" than the songbook. i would be very interested in your opinions on it.

Yes it is plastic, and I would say that it would be more fragile than the Songbook, it has more parts that could break. But it is a Tivoli and still a great product, and at an amazing price.

My iPAL is all plastic but it feels like a tank so I just hope that it's the same with iSongbook.

i use the line out of a sony hd3, i can get it to not distort by running in headphone out mode and lowering the bass but it doesn't sound as good as the line out so i just deal with the lower volume.

Ok, I just got the iSongbook from Sears and I'm thoroughly satisfied with it. I was kinda skeptical due to such a low price the Sears had put out but everything looks and works as it's supposed. The build quality is just as same as my iPAL which is great. It isn't rubber coated but it's glossy and clean. Sound is great too. It's not as bass heavy as iPAL and lacks some bass definition but at this size that is to be expected. What it lacks in bass department more than makes up on it's stereo separation. Without a question stereo makes everything sound better and rich, and that's the reason I got it. Just check out the reviews on the web, at $99, this is a no brainer.

I have the iSongBook at work and it's perfect for the office. I don't have the distortion issue since the volume does not get loud very often and it has all the functionality that I need for that environment.

I would absolutely recommend it.

Don't get me wrong. By all means, it does have a good bass. It's just that it has less bass and definition compared to that of iPAL's.

I don't experice the distortion issue with iSongbook either. The reason their table radios distort is because of excessive bass which can be somewhat fixed by eq-ing but I can definitely notice more balanced and neutral sound with iSongbook. No more eq's necessary.

Just bought the isongbook at Sears today for $49.99. Saw it in their add today and thought for sure they would be gone. They had two of them when I got there..should have got both at that price.
Want to use it on my night stand .. I always listen to acoustic guitar/new age music while going to sleep. The seperation and clarity is great like previous poster said. I did have an ihome alarm clock.. this is a nice leap in sound quality. Nice and portable too. Great toy for the price.

The price went down even further, huh? I thought $99.00 was a smoking deal but $49.99 for a speaker that sound a world better than ihome speakers? It's no brainy, IMO.

I really love the sound at low volume with acoustic music. Haven't even tried the radio yet but the ipod sounds great with it. I actually used a ipod dock and the aux instead of the one on it so it was closer to me while in the rack. Wish the supplied one was on the right of the radio.
