hey gang thought you might like to know, tivoli audio is clearing out their non-black songbook clock radios for ~us$120. i picked up a blue one and love it!

speaker sound quality is unreal for a 2.5" speaker: punchy bass and clean highs, almost a grado sr60 sound. fit and finish are top notch, as is the clean design.

it has an alarm (radio or ramp-up beep) aux in (for ipod, etc), headphone out (sounds good), and a switchable battery compartment for using regular aa (6) or rechargeable, and the songbook will recharge the batteries for you. there is a sleep button but no snooze (at least im not late to work

).

fm reception is strong and noise free. listening to jazz classical or rock it all sounds good. really pulls in the stations.

it's easily the best radio i have ever owned and recommend it especially at clearance prices.

I don't remember seeing Tivoli products last time I was at Magnolia but I'll be sure to check'em out when I'm there next time.

I just hope they're still closing out. It would be awesome to use it as a stereo system with my iPAL although I'm not even sure if I can do that.

I believe Tivoli uses the same driver for every clock radios except high end models. I have an iPAL and my coworkers always say it sounds so full despite the size of it.

the sq is really amazing. when i shower i turn it towards the bathroom and crank it to about 75% volume and i can hear the music perfectly over the shower. i have trying to find pictures online of the inside to see if they are using a folded tube or something, or if it really is just that small kloss speaker that's doing all the work.

while i havent tried the songbook, i do own an ipal and it's one of the best purchases i've made, i take it everywhere with me and use it mostly at work. it distorts at full volume and becomes bright in a large room but is at its best in a corner of a small room.

I know I love mine. On top of the SQ, I love the fact that this thing is so rugged, as I'm sure all Tivoli radios are. You can toss it, leave it out in the rain or put heavy objects on top, it will endure it all. As a matter of fact, I have a strong feeling that you can run it over with a car and it'll still survive. (Well, maybe not)

If you use it with an ipod, try setting your ipod to "Less Bass" EQ. You'll notice that it will no longer distort at higher volumes and sound more balanced.

the rechargeable option is amazing. i put in 6 sony rechargeable aa's and took the radio into the kitchen to list while i washed dishes. it survived wet fingers and bubbles just fine.

I just looked at Sears.com and saw that they indeed have a Songbook on sale. Amazing thing is that what's on sale is actually iSongbook which is exactly the same as Songbook but comes with an extra speaker for stereo realizing. I couldn't believe that they're selling it for $99.00. This is a smoking hot deal considering the retail price is at around $400.00. Of course, I couldn't resist on this kind of deal so I immediately bought one. I would have to wait till tomorrow to pick it up and I'm a bit suspicious of the price but if anything smells fishy, I can just return it and get a full refund. We'll see.
