Hey guys I found this cleaning solution link.It is obviously a misprint but they honored the price for eight gallons.take advantage while you can.I usually make solution myself but this stuff works good and at this mistaken price it's great.

They've corrected it back to $14.95. AA is pretty good about honoring posted prices, even if they're a misprint.

Just out of curiosity, what was the wrong price? As far as I could tell, US$15/1 gal. was a pretty good price, compared to US$20/ 1/2 gal. Also compared to US$17/32 oz...

I think isopropyl/water 4:1 & few drops of photo-flo works pretty damn well. I see no need to buy this stuff, homemade is cheaper.

78s I definately don't suggest using any solution, BAD experience. I just use handheld vacuum cleaner. I don't have one of those nitty gritty super duper vinyl vacuums, I thought it was just money grubbing thing. Are they worth the money?

The $14.95 price is wrong. It should be $38.95.that is the deal I'm trying to clue you guys in to.

I would be the first guy to tell you to make your own solution. But this stuff works as well and I was directing this toward the vinyl lovers out there who are not DIY inclined.Audio's formula is right but I would use distilled water.

Those Nitty Gritty machines are really cool and work very well.I also like the KAB EV-1 which is a very basic vacuum machine that uses an external user-suplied vacuum and works as well as some much higher priced units. You can find these athttp://www.kabusa.com under the record cleaners title.I use a VPI now but it does not clean any better it is just easier to use.I previously mentioned that a record cleaning machine was the best improvement I have made to my system.I mean that.I am still amazed at what can be done to a dirty record not just in terms of sound quality but apperance as well.I have literally saved records from the junk pile to play again. You don't know what you are missing until you have vacuum cleaned your records.

I agree, Tuberoller. The Supercleaner from AA is very good. And there is NOTHING like a vacuum record cleaning machine. It does an incredible job.

I have the cheapo Record Doctor II. Since it is manual, I had to develop a good technique for best cleaning. I use fluid generously. Then vacuum three turns in one direction, then reverse direction for three turns. Works great.

Of course, the clean records go into new poly sleeves, and the album goes into a poly jacket.

Fred,
I been meaning to pm you.Not only do you and I share a first name we have a lot of the same equipment and are both vinyl fans.On top of that you clean your records that EXACT same way I do and I store mine in VRP sleeves and Mylar outer covers. This is way coincidental.I no longer use the Nitty Gritty but I liked it a lot and would recommend it to anyone.I gave my younger brother a Record Doctor II for Christmas and he loves it.I still can't get over the coicidences here. Please don't tell me you are a firefighter or an electricitian or you were a MARINE,I'd faint.

And I'm the other younger brother you never had.

Come to think of it, hey fred, I'll be down in Pensacola for a while, I'm anticipating upto a year and half, after basic training (great lakes, but I don't think I'll get a chance to visit Chicago). We should put together a Florida meeting. And if roller isn't busy, maybe he'll come down?

Audio when you go to Great Lakes you won't worry about meeting me.I have three younger brothers already,as much as I like you I don't need anymore brothers.LOL!! If you had my brothers you wouldn't want anymore yourself. They all make a lot more money than I do and they are all single. You can almost imagine the **** that goes on as far as trying to out do one another between them and my Dad.I also have two cousins around the same age,one of whom is a recently retired NFL great, and they join in with this **** too.Too much for me.

BTW,Great Lakes is beautiful and you will get opportunities to come to the City.they have buses that take you guys to Chicago and to Six Flags and all the surrounding malls and such.Great Lakes also has a large female population and lots of girls are attracted to the Recuits at the base.I wish The Island was like that.

Tell you the truth, I'd rather be in your position, assuming you are happy, having a well secured life with nice family than single and rich. You can leave the base during the 9 weeks of bootcamp?, killer! I've been to the SixFlags in Chicago, I didn't see too many attractive women there, downtown however,

.

I don't want to get any hits during basic training (wanna get near perfect merit points), no females will be occupying my mind.

NEVER use an alcohol solution on 78s. It will dissolve the discs. Most vinyl cleaning solutions have alcohol in them.

Feel free to use plain water (ideally distilled), which works much better than dry cleaning on some of the filthy old things I pick up. Or you can buy cleaning solutions specially forumlated for 78s.

You don't have to faint! I was in the Navy though, and did go through Basic, BE&E and ET school there at Great Lakes (electronics). But that was ancient history.

My Dad got a Record Doctor II for Christmas from my brother, and is also very happy with it.

Great minds think alike....
