I shot video and recorded audio for some local buds of mine in the local Houston band, "Buxton" ...

They take the best of old school country (think George Jones, etc.) and new school alt country (think Son Volt, Wilco, Whiskteytown) and combine it all in to a very fun and believable romp of alt country loveliness. And they play very very loud. And, their guitarist (Jason) is a badass of the Nth order.

I shot this on 12.11.09 at my fav dive bar in Houston, Walters on Washington ... I recorded the room mix with a Zoom H4N field recorder and an Audio Technica AT822 stereo condenser microphone. And, I'm quite proud to say, I used a pair of Shure SRH840's to monitor the mix from the sound guy's booth (I LOVE those headphones so much!).

Anyway ...

You'll have to actually click the links since I can't figure out how to post videos "in-line" here on head-fi ...

Great bunch of Houston based kids rocking their hearts out.

Enjoy ... and do yourselves a favor, on the following vids? If your computer/connection can handle it, then by all means, click the "HD" button!:

(just deal with the "tears in my beer" intro, they take the gloves off around 2:30 mins ... in a very loud and serious way ... 5h1t!, I had to turn the Zoom's input levels down to 0.08! LOL. True story.)

Sorry to see no one's left you any feedback despite the views!

I like alt.country (some). The lead singer/guitarist looks like he could prob. do a very good Proclaimers cover

I will absolutely check that out once I get home. Shame that alt.country doesn't get more attention here. There's a lot to love in the genre and some incredibly talented musicians.
