My 2007 Headroom Desktop Portable has an annoying slight hiss/buzz/whine at high volume on the "high" gain output. I don't notice it on the optical input. I also have a 2006 model which does not seem to have the same problem but operates off of external battery supplies. Anyone else experienced this? Any fixes or is it just a symptom of the amp? It is not apparent on "medium gain" input levels.

Bump. Headroom is great. This is not a criticism and I'm sure they'll take care of it, but if anyone has similar experience, I would be very appreciative.

I would sure contact HR about the problem. I have the 2006 desktop and I have not heard a thing out of it other than the music.

why not try posting in the HR forum. also have you tried different USB ports.

My HR amp - same a syours - was usb connected and was totally silent and problem free. Has HR responded to you yet with anything?
