Since I will be doing lots of traveling soon, I need a new headphone for my iPod for the plane ride or on the bus when going to school. I mostly listen to Rap/Hip-Hop and like the feel of bass and I have a budget of about $200, well maybe a little more if it's extremely worthwhile, any suggestions??

My recommendation is Sennheiser HD25-1. Really great for exactly that purpose you described.

I would like headphones that I can put over or on my ears. My budget is now slightly bumped to $300 if that helps. Weight doesn't matter also.

Do you care about hearing flight noises? I'm going to take a MDR-NC6 on my next holiday.

I know you stated a preference for over/on ear solutions. Normally, less is better when it comes to what we have to lug around while traveling. In that spirit, you may want to take a second look @ IEM's.

Ultimate Ears has an extended bass version super.fi 5 line that may interest you. Super.fi 5 EB Description - Products - Ultimate Ears Earphones Headphones Personal Monitors

Personally, I'm going with custom-fit livewires. I expect hours of comfort with great sound... and all in a small, portable package. While they have strong bass, they're not geared for bass-heads.

I used the Bose QC2 on long flights, and they did a remarkable job canceling engine noise. I know a lot of people here break out in hives at the mention of Bose because of the considerable price premium the brand name commands. Still, I had a good experience with them. Of course, I'll probably hate the the QC2 when I do an A-B test after receiving my LW's.
