TMA-1 Studios, they were returned so not sure if that counts, also did the same with Sennheiser MOMENTUM on-ear as they were going to be used for iPhone due to mic. I wasn't impressed at all.

I used to love lcd2.2 the dark sounding and later in time I noticed how much the sound was congested.
I am not an expert in audiophile world like you so I might be wrong but one thing I am sure that it was very very painful to wear audeze headphones even after I up both headband and lcd3 pads.
Sennheiser 280 when I first entered the audio world. Demoed them at guitar center and loved them. Got them home and they sounded paper thin. Absolutely no bass and I had to put the volume up to 90 to get them to a decent listening level. I didn't understand ohms or what an amp did.
Earlier this year I bought a pair of Grado 80i and I enjoyed the sound for the first 20 minutes and then every progressive minute my ears started to hurt. Both the sound fatigue and the physical comfort of them are borderline F's. I tried 7 different pads with 3 sound cards and 2 amps and nothing alleviated the pain. I gave them 2 weeks before I wanted to smash them and set them on fire. I went against this and returned them to amazon.

I would say that the LCD-2s easily trounced the D7000s, GS1000s and bested the HE500s (though the differences was much closer)...and they often got the most amount of my head time when I owned them. YMMV and by the looks of it, it certainly does.
The HE500s are somewhat close to the LCD-2s overall. The former have a more correct and neutral response. But overall I think the LCD-2s are slightly better headphones, but not devoid of colorations. I can fully understand this dilema, yet in regards to the other headphones mentioned: just NO.
I really like my HE500's but recently i started using my Ms-Pros again and found i really do prefer them. Call it warmth or coloration, they just have that bit of soul that gets the head bopping and toes tapping. Sure the 500's are technically better, but the Grados just sound better. Its bit like digital vs analog.
Was always curious about the LCD's though, maybe they are the cans for me...
