I started a thread a few days ago about getting the headphones with the most bass for under 150 dollars. I was recommended the MDR XB1000's. I really like these headphones, but are there any other headphones for 250 dollars or less that are as good as the XB1000's? Also, if I do go with the Sony's, should I go for the XB700's or the XB1000's? Thanks in advance

Consider the DT770 from Beyer. Bass heavy and a little bright.

DT770's are nice, I have heard they aren't very durable though. I'm not sure about this, it's just what I've heard. They are bass heavy, but they are medium-high bright IMO, when I listen to dubstep the highs really bump up on the DT's. Not sure what else would be considered bass heavy, but you might want an amp, maybe a portable one, if you want CLEAN heavy bass instead of the bass that sounds like your headphone has bad gas.

Beyer DT770 PRO
M-Audio Q40
Denon D2000

Beyers are plenty durable, they're virtually tanks.

Very best,

Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80-Ohm (closed headphone).
Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro 250-Ohm (open headphone).
Both need a decent headphone amplifier to bring out their best.
