Can anyone tell me which headphones have the most balanced sound? I prefer ones that don't exaggerate in any areas and are all equal at bass, mids and treble.

I recommend the Stax 4070.
Really nice pair of monitor headphones, with a balanced sound. Where the bass, mid and treble don't stick out.

For balance I Prefer Studio headphones.

any half decent pair of headphones attached to a good amp and equalizer.
If you're looking for neutral pretty much none of the dynamics I have heard are really neutral so you have to equalize.

Try the Sennheiser HD-600. They're very well balanced overall and used as a reference by many here. They're $300 USD new and about $200-$225 USD used.

Nah, I do want to try a 4070 one of these days but I think Jade comes first
Anyway, I think its hard to recommend a balanced sounding headphone (or any type for that matter) since everyone's hearing is different. What might be bright to someone might be balanced to another. Best if you get the chance to go to a meet or somewhere to audition different headphones. I tried some suggestions from people in the past and didn't find them to my liking. Now I just buy blindly (or more O2s)

Yes, the HD 600 was what i was thinking of too. Anything higher, then you're going into Stax territory.

So the HD650 isn't as balanced as HD600?
