I'm new here, and I've been reading around a little bit, but I'm going to ask for some help on getting new headphones. Currently I'm using the Marshmallows, which are good, but I would like to upgrade. I have a few major things I want...so here goes.

1. Around, preferably under $100
2. In-ears, my ears are tiny. The iPod headphones made my ears feel like they were bleeding after about 5 seconds and I wanted to cry..
3. I would like good sound -- I know I'm not going to get thousand dollar headphones for a tenth of the price. Nothing too bass heavy. For example, today I've listened to: Sleater-Kinney, the Phantom of the Opera, a little baile funk, classical, hardcore punk, and general pop crap. So just good all-around sound.
4. Must have the Y-cord. I tried the J-cord. It didn't work out.
5. I'd prefer non-white, but...it is doable.

So, any suggestions?

There is nothing wrong with Grado SR 60, they are a very nice sounding pair at a very reasonable price of about $70. my wife used a pair with her ipod and thinks they're great..

they may be a little bass light compared to my shure e3g, which, imo, are too muddy and cloudy sounding

I would recommend um1s. The etys have very accurate and neutral sound if you like that, but i found the um1s a lot more musical, fuller, and more satisfying. its a little more expensive though
