Am I creating history here with this request.

We have headphones that have to much bass. We have headphones that have to much treble. We have headphones that have to little bass, to much treble roll off but I have never ever seen anybody complaining about headphones with bloated mid range... They are always recessed if anything? They can be "full" but have never ever heard anyone mentioning anything over that on any headphone available. Is it impossible for headphones to have to much emphasis on mid range

Just came up as a thought in my random thought generator.

Not full size headphones, but Shure IEM's are often criticized for this... all midrange and nothing else, especially the lower end models (not that I necessarily believe in it, but that's what some ppl think).

lol, the mids just sounds more natural to the ear, but most of the new hps have emphasis on the high mids.

And in this regard the Pro-900 sound great...

I think most volume settings are based on the loudest part you can hear, if highs and bass are too high, mids are recessed.
if the mids are too high, you just turn it down and say the highs/lows are rolled of

Sennheiser HD-280s. They have good bass extension but low bass & treble volume, making their otherwise honkey mids take precedence.

So yes, there are indeed headphones with bloated mids.

Agreed a thousand percent! Except with the HD280s.

I agree for the most part. Too much midrange will "sound" like not enough bass/treble.
