Hi everyone,
About three years ago I bought some Audio technica ATH - M50 (the old model that you cannot change the audio cable). Since a few months the end of audio cable is slowly dying. I really enjoyed thoses headphone. Here are the things that I liked about them :
- Good isolation / passive noise cancelling
- Very solid (exept for the cable)
- Great portabillity
- Good overall sound with punchy bass
- Work well with almost any style of music
So, more about what I am looking for,
I'm looking for similars heaphones, but they must be a upgrade to the ATH-M50 and around 200-300$.
Also, keep in mind that I live in Canada.
Here are the "must have" features :
- Closed back
- Good isolation : No sound or very little must leak.
- Portability / Solidity: They must survive the casual bus rides and be place inside a backpack without getting damage over the years.
- Must fit a large part of the music that I listen to :
Mainly Rock (Classic Rock, Prog Rock, Heavy Rock) and a bit of Rap, Classical music
Here are the "Bonus" features :
- Good bass : Doesn't need to have extra bass, just some headphones that reproduce well the bass guitar sounds.
- Good looking
Ok, so I did a little research myself and found two models that seems to be a good fit for me :
ATH-MSR7BK (Link)
I really enjoyed my last pair of Audio Technica
Sony MDR-1A (Link)
I have never been a fan of Sony in general, but I read great things about these headphones, still i'm not sure.
I'm looking for ideas and guidance so I can enjoy music for the next years to come !
You are welcome to post heaphones that you think are very good, but doesn't respect every aspects of the description that I gave below.
*Sorry if I made alot of mistakes, english is my second language.
