Hi, I'm new here, although I have been looking around these forums for years and like to say thanks, you guys have helped me on many things.
Right now I have pair of AIAIAI TMA-1Xs, but want something that has more bass and more fun to listen to.
I'm a bass head who enjoys smooth bass. I really dig warm sound also and will be listening to them 99% of the time at home. Music wise from minimal techno and house to pink floyd and all other kinds of goodness.
AIAIAI's sounded way too flat and cold for me, that's the reason I want a change. Although when I plugged them from macbook pro to galaxy S4, they sounded ALOT better. Sound was a lot smoother and warmer, much more enjoyable to listen. Difference was:
Macbook: "I want to listen to every mistake that the music has" Cirrus Logic DAC
S4: "I want to enjoy this song and let it carry me to somewhere beautiful" Google told: Wolfson DAC
I'm not planning to buy external DAC anytime soon, as my AIAIAI's are quite worn from everyday use and I have a budget of 200 EUR/USD.
I have been looking around the interwebs for days now and have not end up in definitive conclusion. And want your recommendations on over-ear headphones.
I have thought about:
Bluedio UFO Plus - Wireless headphones with total of 12 drivers. Build quality seems kinda sketchy. Reviews say that these are really bass heavy and sound really good. Being wireless means that there will be no DAC/AMP problem.
JVC HA SZ2000 - Bass cans. Reviews say that his and mids are not good.
Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 - Really good looking stylish cans that are suppose to have good SQ (and then reviewers say you can get better SQ for the money, without recommending anything)
AKG K7XX - Currently being sold at Massdrop. Z Reviews on youtube says they are some of the best, Marques Brownlee says they sound flat. And being 60ish Ohms they seem to be requiring amp, which I'm not planning to buy anytime soon. Also this website lists them in Buying Guide))
Audio-Technica ATH PRO700MK2 - Seem to be good, but that's it, good.
V-MODA M100 - I just hate the design too much to consider. I may look like a WW2 radio man or bit funny with funky headphones, but I'm really disliking gaming/predator looks unfortunately.
Beyerdynamic DT990 32Ohm - Seems interesting, but not many thoughts on these.
What would you choose and why? Also recommend other ones if there are any that would suit better.
EDIT: Also I have this small Fiio E6 amp.
