Headphones that keep neighbors from hearing my music?

Hi!

I don't know much about headphones but an Amazon review recommended this site to learn more.

Here's my question: I've read that sound-canceling headphones keep ambient sound out but don't really function in keeping your music from disturbing others. Do any headphones exist that keep your neighbors from hearing your music?

I figured if anyone would know, it would be someone on this site.

Thanks! :)

If you don't mind stuffing phallic objects in your ear, try searching the main forums (or google) for "in-ear monitors" aka IEMs.

I highly recommend AKG K1000's.

If you're worried that music coming from your headphones might disturb your neighbors, you may have a bigger problem on your hands. Try turning it down a few hundred db

Otherwise, headphones that are closed or sealed prevent sound from leaking in or out. K1000... I've had issues obtaining a good seal around my ears. Is there something wrong with my head, Edwood?

Yeah, seriously. OP, are you defining "neighbor" in the common sense, as in someone who lives in a residence near, or adjacent, to yours? If so, there is no headphone that would be loud enough for your neighbors to hear without first rupturing your eardrums.

Maybe when he says "neighbors", he means "wife", and when he says "music", he means "cries of adult pleasure"?

Or maybe by "neighbors" he means "neighbors", but by "music" he means "wife's cries of adult pleasure".

Hmm... but in that case he would have to get the headphones for his neighbors...

No, closed noise-canceling headphones tend to leak very little sound that others can hear. It's open headphones that others can hear, but an open back is not compatible with noise cancellation.

And are you sure you want noise cancellation? Go read some threads on it. You might be happier with closed headphones or IEMs.

(Apologies for ruining the fun!
