Hi, I am looking for new headphones for my mobile phone.
 
I'll be travelling quite a lot on bus/train so of course I'm looking for closed back with decent isolation so none of my fellow commuters murder me when my music is a bit loud.
I am looking for something up to $50 as I don't think I need anything more expensive to listen to rubbish mp3's.

At $50 choices are very limited, absent a closeout sale.
 
The Koss ProDJ100 is a great value.  However, some lower powered devices (e.g. phones) are challenged to drive them loud enough.

Maybe some low cost IEMs like the Xiaomi Piston 3 or the Klipsch S3/S4?
