Hey guys. I currently own a pair of ms-1's. I love them to death, but i've been getting into trance lately, and i think i want some with better bass. My budget would be less then $100, what would you recomend?

You want the clarity too...and you are not going to find ANYTHING to beat MS-1 in that department...the little gains in bass would cost you too much in terms of overall fidelity.

Just use an EQ if things are that bad.

I would check out the ES-7s. They have the closed can bass and nice highs that work well with trance.

I totally agree (I often do with MaloS' statements, btw). Keep the MS1. If you want better performance, start putting money aside (200$ or more)

The MS1 is can't be beaten, at least in the class under 100$. It simply crashes the K81, ES7 and alike.

More bass can easely be had (K81 or other midfi redneck gear), but better bass is another story IMO...

I don't know if you mean to get rid of the MS-1 or get a complementary phone. If it's the latter, DEFINITELY get the K81DJ. If you want to get rid of it for another phone, try to find a meet before you do.

let me speak more clearly. I have no intentions of replacing my ms-1's. I'm a relatively poor student, i don't have alot of money to spend on a set of headphones. The ms-1s are perfect for about 70-80% of the music that i listen to. In the last few weeks i'm really getting into trance and i realized that the ms1's where lacking in the bass department. I was having more fun listening to trance on my cheap senn eh-150 because of the thumping bass. What i want is a pair of headphones to compliment my ms-1's . I don't need i single pair of headphones to listening to everything in my collection, like i said the ms-1's are perfect for everything else other then the trance. I would also consider an amp if it would also solve my problem, but i would doubt it.

I forgot about these, they should be able to even possibly just plain replace MS-1 for all music.
